The Club Classic Juniors Academy Program is here to provide the
most advanced training methods to soccer players under the age of 10. Although our Soccer Camps, Academy and Skills
are available to everyone, we have a special opportunity to provide soccer development programs to the Plano, Lewisville,
Irving, Garland and Dallas YMCA's pool of young players who play in the Y Soccer leagues.
Club Classic Juniors training methods originate from
the renowned soccer club AJAX Amsterdam of Holland. AJAX has been using this development system for many years
producing some of the most talented players in the world. The method is called TIPS which stands for
Technique, Insight, Psyche and Speed. We use the TIPS concept in all our training sessions because the method
covers all four components of soccer in the order of focus and importance; Technique, Tactics, Psychology and
Physiology. All our training sessions contain economical activities meaning they incorporate these four
components of soccer by facilitating soccer specific exercises.

Teaching Philosophy Using the TIPS Method
Our philosophy consists of 3 elements in respective order of importance and focus.
Enjoyment
Our first priority, when we interact with the kids, is to make sure they are enjoying themselves before
we even think about any other area of soccer. We first instill a passion and burning desire for soccer
that will make them keep coming back to the soccer field.
Development
Everyone talks about development but the specifics in the teaching methods are what make the difference and
thats where the proven TIPS methods come into play.
Technique is taught using maximum touches and repetitions of game like situational exercises.
Technical training will occur the first 30 minutes of each practice and will usually have a ball to player ratio
of 1:1 or 1:2. This also incorporates psychomotor development that provides movement education and/or
coordination training.
Small group tactics and the principles of Attacking and Defending are taught
through active participation and by the concept of “the game is the teacher”. The coach’s instructions
are short, direct and inclusive. An ounce of words, a ton of practice.
Competition
Kids want to be competitive. We believe in placing kids of general equal ability together and playing them
against players of general equal ability. Winning 10-0 or losing 10-0 is not competitive and is
frustrating and no fun. In a positive environment where kids are praised for trying their best and are
not pressured in a results-oriented environment, competition is good and players will improve more rapidly.
